Today we compare the recently unveiled HTC First with one of the best smartphones in the mobile market – the Samsung Galaxy S4. This is not a comparison to prove how powerful the Samsung Galaxy S4 is, rather this battle is to test the HTC First but putting it up against one of the most powerful competitors in the entire mobile segment in order to check where the HTC First actually stands.
We already know that the HTC First is a mid-segment smartphone focused around Facebook whereas the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a powerful next-gen smartphone. So it is not the outcome that we will focus on, but the process.
Let us compare the specs of these two smartphones in a one on one battle.

CONCLUSION
As I already said, we knew what the outcome would be. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is definitely the winner by a big margin, but the HTC First does put up an impressive fight. The HTC First is definitely not the best smartphone out there, but could become one of the most popular smartphone if Facebook Home would have been exclusive to the device. But as Facebook has already said, Facebook Home will also be available for other smartphones meaning that the HTC First might not really have a USP (Unique Selling Point).
Coming back to the comparison, the HTC First has a decent hardware configuration and a usable camera. The device also has good battery capacity, but more is always better. So if you are used to a powerful smartphone like the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 etc. then I suggest that you stick to your particular phone of choice and get Facebook Home on your device instead.
On the other hand, if you are buying a new smartphone for sure, then the HTC First could be an interesting option if you are okay with an average smartphone.
